Some more pictures of our visit with David. Saturday, we went to Bernheim Forest, south of Louisville. This is an area of very pretty gardens, which I foolishly did not get a picture of, and forested area with hiking trails. David took this picture of us at one of the lookout points, and as you can see, the trees havent leafed out yet.
Saturday evening, all 6 of us prepared an Easter feast together. David smoked 2 huge chicken ( I swear they were baby turkeys), and he and Emily made mashed potatoes and asparagus. Emily's mom, Susan made an artichoke cheese dip for an appetizer, and I made Strawberry cheesecake trifle for dessert. Everything was wonderful, and we had leftover for David's housemates, and for us to eat on Sunday night. David is wearing the apron I made him for his birthday. It says "Kiss the Cook" and I put Dave above Cook.

David lives in a house with 4 other guys. All except one are either seminary students or recent graduates, and one of them, Joel, actually owns the house and the others pay him rent. They are all wonderful young men, and were very gracious in sharing their home with us. To show my appreciation I made dinner for them on Monday night. We had stromboli, salad and chocolate chip cookies. There were very few leftovers, and I think they appreciated it.
David and his friends play a lot of croquet. We had never played before, and had a good time learning. Steve was very good, and won at least once. It took me longer to figure the game out, but I had a lot of fun!

Glad you had a good trip. Welcome home.
The apron is very cute. Love the play on your last name.
