Let's go Racing!!!!!!!

I got Steve tickets to attend the Daytona 500, for our wedding anniversary last summer. We both watch the races pretty faithfully and I knew he would enjoy this. He had attended before, as a teenager, but that was a long time ago. We went with another couple from church, and had great seats, just past the finish line and about 10 rows up.

Let's go Racing! This is just before the official start of the race. Mark Martin's car is the obnoxious green color, which makes it very easy to spot. When the cars go by the stands, they are going so fast, it is just a blur,and the wind nearly knocks you over! And, of course, it's real noisy. Until you have been there, it's hard to realize the feeling.

After two long delays, and several cautions, the winner! Jamie McMurray.

Since the race lasted so long, it was dark and COLD when it ended. We had jackets, gloves, etc and I was glad we had all that extra clothing.

Several of my friends had told me, there's nothing like being there, and they were right! It was a great day.
